The new Japanese ambassador to Rwanda Kazuya Ogawa, presented copies of credentials to Hon Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Louise Mushikiwabo this April 11, 2013.
Both Hon Louise Mushikiwabo and Ambassador Kazuya Ogawa saluted the achievements of the bilateral cooperation between Rwanda and Japan and committed themselves to keep the collaboration to ensure that the cooperation achieves more.
Since 1962, the time of Rwanda’s independence, the cooperation between Rwanda and Japan has been steadily growing and covers different sectors notably rural and human resources development, especially through the current permanent JICA office in Rwanda.
Several Rwandans regularly benefit from short to long-term training in Japan.
Rwanda companies have also been actively involved in various Japan trade fairs marketing the Rwanda premium coffee and tea as well the famous Mountain Gorillas among many others.
Ambassador Kazuya Ogawa replaces Ambassador Kunio Hatanaka who has been representing Japan in Rwanda for almost three years ago.
