Researchers and academicians in peace building and post conflict studies have commended the role played by Rwanda National Police (RNP) in transnational justice mechanisms in Rwanda.

The researchers and academicians from Canada, Croatia, Netherlands, Norway, Colombia, Israel and Rwanda expressed their gratitude on March 14, 2013 while visiting Rwanda National Police headquarters in Kacyiru.

The 15-member group which started its tour in Rwanda on March 10, visited Rwanda National Police headquarters to learn about the challenges of policing and post-Genocide investigation in the reconstruction of a Rwandan society.

The group was explained on different Rwanda National Police peace and security strategies ranging from police-public partnership against crime, anti-gender based violence, corruption and drug abuse campaigns, to terrorism and international cooperation.

“I must say, am impressed with the way you work with the community in the policing process,” Agnes Dinkelman, one of the group member, said.

Dinkelman is a communal developer and transformation mediator from Netherlands working on peace, safety and security.
